Today marked the beginning of an interesting journey.  We we supposed to fly to Phuket but lost our reservation (for reasons which still aren't all that clear).  Because it was a holiday weekend, our only option was to drive to Kupang for 11 hours to catch a flight to Bali from there. Otherwise there is no way we would make to Thailand by the 25th.  Atambua is one of the towns we passed on the way to Kupang.

People in this village were really friendly -- some of the friendliest we've met during the last 19 months.
