July

Because of the moving and associated chaos and change it would entail we were pretty sure that July would be tough for Alec.  We were pleased to have been proven largely wrong.  Alec still went to school for the first two weeks of the month and had fun playing with the packers came to the house and boxed everything up (including Alec!).  Though Mom always finds moving depressing, Alec happily handed over the boxes and tried to tape them.  He then proudly announced: "I helped".

We tried to go to the beach as much as we could this month and enjoyed every single trip.  Alec realized that he gets more attention at the beach (maybe because of his six pack abs?)  He always walks around and says hi to everyone, including

people we've never met, and then pretends to be shy.  He seems to have figures out that when acts shy he gets more attention.  Such mischievous boy.

Alec's love of the water is beyond description.  As soon as he lands his feet on white sand, he immediately runs into the water.  Being suitably paranoid parents, Mom or Dad always chases him or watches him closely by the shore.  But the closer we get to Alec, the deeper he goes.  But when Mom and Dad sit calmly sit in the sand and let him play on the shore, Alec always stays in the shallow water.

Alec resisted wearing diapers this month.  Whenever he needs to go either way, he always said "bathroom".  Alec still speaks a bit more Bahasa Indonesia than English, but we expect a few weeks in the U.S. to change that.

Alec's favorite question this month is "Why?".  No matter what your answer is, his reply is always "Why?".
