Curious Alec in 2005

2005 was an interesting year for Alec.  2005 filled with lots and lots of traveling for Alec.  Alec still spent a lot of time on the beach and while Mom and Dad were diving.  We took a week vacation to Phuket, Thailand in March.  Alec also turned 2 years old this year.  We celebrated his birthday party with 30 kids from foreign and local community.  In the middle of August we took a home leave and use it to visit families in Jakarta-Indonesia, Ogden-Utah, and Phoenix-Arizona, before our permanent stay in Washington DC.  Alec turning out to be a polite little boy.  He always says: "...please", or "May I..." every time he needs assistance.  Most of our friends are impressed with his sweet mouth and mature behavior.  Alec joined a Gymnastic class from Gymboree this year and quite the gymexplorer.  Using powerful imagination, Alec is an independent toddler.  Alec finally had a flu by the end of this year but it didn't turn him to a whiny sick kid.  He was more quite and cuddly than usual, but not grumpy.  We have been blessed that until this day we have an ALEC just the way he is.  Knock on the wood, we have never visited the emergency room.  We are scheduled to stay in Washington until summer 2006, before our next assignment to Medan, North Sumatra - Indonesia.

January	February	March
19 months old - Curious Alec has imaginary Friend!  He often use a remote control or anything pretending to talk to someone and (copying his Dad) walk around the house with it.  He also loves pretending to read.	20 months old - Alec was a busy little body this month.  He knows how to swim and use the toilet properly!  Such a big boy!	21  months old - Outdoor activities everyday!  This affectionate little guy is getting tan and tanner every day.    Alec visits 3 countries this month.  What a vacations!
April	May	June
22 months old - Alec can wear flip-flop!  He also communicates well enough that his parents usually understand what he wants.	23 months old - Alec continues to be a thoroughly happy kid.  Alec the little parrot copies everything we say.	2 years old!  Alec started to realized that he can communicate in 2 languages.  He switches languages when someone doesn't understand what he is saying (or when they say no)...
July	August	September
25 months old - Big move from East Timor.  Alec still speaks more Bahasa than English.  Alec asks a lot of "Why?"s this month.	26 months old - Flew 30 hours across the Pacific without shedding a tear on the planes.  Drove 15 hours to the Colorado river in a mobile home.  What a trooper!	27 months old - The long travel finally ended.  Alec can count to 'SEVEN' this month and recognizes his flavors, like sour, sweet or spicy, etc.  Perfectly pronounce "Alec Stein" whenever people asked his name.
October	November	December
28 months old - Alec learned to recognize numbers one through seven this month and joined his first gymnastics class from Gymboree.  Alec had a compliment from the instructor for having excellent balance from the first time tried out the equipment.  Alec had a great time trick-or-treating on Halloween.	29 months old - Alec increasingly observant to his surrounding.  He went to many museums and learned a lot of things.  Enjoyed a visit of Grandma Nancy and wanted to be help (only) by Grandma.  Always says "May I..." and adding "...please" every time he needs assistance, Alec turned out to be a polite little boy.  A dear friend made a complement that she's admiring Alec's adult behavior.	2 and and a half years old - Totally a sick puppy the whole month!  Alec was suffered from influenza and ear infection.  Ouchy!  The amazing thing was that it doesn't turned him to a grumpy, whiny-sick kid.  He was more cuddly and more quite than usual, but not whiny.  We are sooo darn lucky.
