We celebrated Christmas in Utah this year. It was so
nice to see everyone--or ALMOST everyone. We missed Harold and Linda
who couldn't come up for the holidays. This year, instead of buying
EVERYONE gifts ( which always gets way, way, way out of hand) we draw
(siblings and in laws) names. It turned out fun and works for
everyone. We opened each |

other's gifts on Christmas eve (we regret not doing it
even sooner) and then opened Santa's gifts on Christmas day. We also
watched a couple of Christmas' Broadway-kind-of-show which were surprisingly
entertaining. But Alec hadn't really recovered from his flu and fell
ill again. Mom and Alec kept passing each other germs which they then shared
with Dad and Grandma Nancy. We were shocked when the doctor told us
that Alec supposed to be in a lot of pain because of a bad ear infection.
We guessed |

he had an ear infection when Alec told us that his left
ear hurt, but we had no idea it was a bad one because of the way Alec behaved. It was easily treatable, but still
should have caused Alec a lot of pain. In any case, given a bit of Amoxilyn, Antihistamine and 48 hours, Alec was ready to fly home. |

February 2004
We missed Christmas : (
We arrived in Ogden in February for a very brief visit.
We didn't have much time to begin with, and everything was made more difficult
because we missed our connecting
flight to Singapore due to airline technical problems! This caused us to
spend more than 3 days en route to the U.S. Alec was a real troop through
out the flight and just a happy
traveler. The 26 hours spent flying didn't bother him a bit.
Once we got to Ogden, though, the altitude and jet lag
wore out his little body for first couple of days. We also had Alec's blessed
while we were in Ogden and flew to Phoenix to spend couple of days with Harold and Linda.
